I got tagged

Plastic Please tagged me, so I'm doing this because I'm in Estate Planning and it's boring :)

Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
5. Let each random person know they have been tagged.

Six Things About Me:
1. I have worn something orange for 3 out of the last 6 days. GO VOLS!
2. I have become an insomniac on school nights.
3. It just took me like 5 minutes to remember the word "insomniac" - I have a terrible memory lately.
4. I got my butt kicked last weekend in the 29th annual Corn Family Easter Egg Hunt.
5. I made fruit tea last weekend and forgot to add the water so it was SUPER sweet.
6. I have been to the gym twice this week already - look at me go!

I tag anyone who wants to play :) Happy Wednesday!

Happy Easter!

A day late, but it's something that always needs celebrating :)

We had a great Easter weekend! It was very busy, but lots of fun. After 4 Easter Egg hunts, Addie is officially a pro. She had one at school on Friday, then we had her friends Olivia and Holland (and Olivia's parents Amy & Randy, and of course Aunt "Din" and Uncle "Cheese") over for dinner and an egg hunt Saturday, then we had two on Sunday - one at Nana and Grampa's, and one at Gran and Pop's! Phew! Needless to say, we are not giving her all of the candy she found.

Another big thing this weekend is that Addie gave up her pacifiers! We started last week by telling her that we were going to give them to the Easter Bunny so that he could deliver them to the babies out there who need them. She nodded her head each morning that she understood, but we were still unsure of how it would go when the weekend finally got here. It went GREAT! We kind of cheated a little bit because she was already asleep when we put her to bed on Friday (she had fallen asleep in the car). The same thing happened for her nap on Saturday. But Saturday evening, I put her to bed and she only fussed for about 5 minutes or so! We were so proud! She fussed even less Sunday night, and tonight when I put her down she didn't even whimper. I think I have been more reluctant to give up her pacis for my sake - my baby is becoming a big girl! Time goes by too quickly.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

That's my girl!

I wasn't feeling so great on Sunday so JM took Addie to see Nana and Grampa on the farm so I could rest. JM said when he and Addie arrived, he showed her how to carefully walk around the puddles in the driveway. He later caught up with Addie to see what Nana and Grampa had taught her while he was doing some work on the greenhouse:

Hehehe.

Our week

We have had a great week here, overall! We had lots of fun celebrating Aunt Lynn's birthday on Wednesday. It was a gorgeous day and I decided that birthday fun time was more important than class time, so I skipped and got to celebrate with everyone! I'm so glad I did. We had a blast! Happy Birthday, Lynn! We love you!

Addie had a playdate with Lynn, Kris and Holland on Thursday and they had a fun day. I went to visit at lunch time and my sweet girl didn't want me to leave. So, being quick-witted (or so I thought ;)) I told Addie that if she was a good girl for Aunt Lynn and went down for a nap, then she could have ice cream when she woke up. Score one for Mommy, right? Maybe not :) Lynn said she went down without any fussing, but then when she woke up a few hours later, the first words out of her mouth were "ice cream!" (Well, I'm guessing they were really Ice Cee :)) Kris got some super cute shots of it. You can see them here.

So the only downside to our week was a pretty big one. Today, we had to have our sweet kitty, Cleo, put to sleep. You've probably seen her pictures on here. We got Cleo a few months after we got married as a 5-week-old kitten. She was diagnosed with kidney failure in November, and up until earlier this week, did very well with daily fluid treatments. Unfortunately, we noticed this week that she was very thin and was bleeding from her mouth, so we took her in to be checked. She was down to 3.4 pounds (she weighed 10 pounds last summer) and the vet said it was time. We got to bring her home last night to spend one last evening with her but today we had to let her go. We are doing okay, but are sad to be missing a "member" of our family. Isn't it crazy how attached we become to our pets? I know all you pet owners understand. I hope we don't ever have to go through this again (although I know we will, because we will ALWAYS have pets! :)).

Anyway, we're looking forward to a great, relaxing weekend and are hoping to recover from our lost hour from Daylight Savings Time. Or maybe that's just me :) Who knew an hour would make such a difference?!

I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures this weekend, too!

"Nose" Day!

Well, we ended up getting about 2 1/2 to 3 inches of snow. Not too shabby for Southern Middle Tennessee! Some areas around here got up to 7 inches! Wow! I wish we had gotten that much, but beggars can't be choosers - I'll take any little bit! We are having a blast playing outside, but are having to do it in about 15-minute increments because it is SO COLD! We've decided to buy Addie a snowsuit and snow boots for next year, even if she'll only wear them once. That way maybe we could stay outside a little longer. Layering jammies and clothes only takes you so far :)

Here are a few pics and videos from our first trip outside this morning!

What we saw out our patio door this morning

Addie and Daddy!

Addie cleaning off the patio chair (I think you can hear her actually say "snow" instead of "nose")

Addie and Daddy sledding! You can see how happy Hops is about the snow, too!

More sledding! We'll also be buying a real sled before next winter. :)

It's snowing!

Well, I haven't updated in a while because there hasn't been a whole lot of stuff to talk about! We did have a crazy week last week, though. Addie's BFF Holland gave everyone a little bit of a scare (you can read about it here), but is doing great now! I'm thinking Addie was somehow feeling that something was going on with Holland, because she was HEINOUS last week. She was hitting us (!!!) and just having constant tantrums. Just when I started researching boarding preschools (hehehe), she went back to her normal sweet self! She has just been the cutest ever this week - talking ALL THE TIME and making sure we know what everything is. She even pointed out yogurt to me at the store this past weekend, which I thought was hilarious since I haven't bought it for her in a while. She also always is sure to tell us what color everything is. Her favorite is "yelyow." :)

I've been trying the past few days to get video of all the things we think are so cute (and things she'll probably outgrow soon - like saying "yelyow" and "dack, dack" for "quack, quack"). I just can't believe how quickly time passes and I know I'll wish I had done this more!

Anyway, we are SO SUPER excited about the snow that is here in the Nashville area! They've predicted 4-6 inches and I could not be happier. I even went to Target today to look for snow boots for Addie. I knew I was out of luck when I passed the flip-flops :) But I managed to get her some rain boots, which I figured would do in a pinch. At least they'll be better than her tennis shoes! I'll be sure to post pictures of us making "nose"men tomorrow!

The "yelyow" duck! Yes, her little phone toy is running out of batteries.

Addie showing off her crayons ("nekkid," no less - she did NOT want to keep clothes on today!)

Another cowgirl picture :)

Daddy went clothes shopping for Addie - look how cute!

She thinks the camera is "MINE!" Hehe.
